James Reese

James Reese, Founder and Chairman of TigerSwan, is a cross-functional leader with over 30 years of remarkable achievements in leadership and problem solving. A born entrepreneur, his experience spans complex, multicultural, and fast-paced operating environments from startups to billion-dollar organizations. Reese’s leadership is innovative in areas of safety, security, stability, due diligence, service integration and team building.

In 2007, Reese formulated the founding principles and vision for the establishment of TigerSwan. He started the company in a kitchen, sans outside capital but with tremendous energy. Today, TigerSwan spans 46 countries and several hundred employees providing peace of mind to industry and individuals abroad.

Reese retired from the heralded “Delta Force” in 2007, after 25 years as a decorated combat leader. He was called one of the finest “special operators in the modern military,” by the Commander of Coalition Forces of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Immediately following 9/11, Reese was selected by the U.S. Secretary of Defense to serve as the lead Special Operations Advisor for the US Government’s Interagency planning, integration and operations for the invasion of Afghanistan and Operation Enduring Freedom. Again in 2003, he was personally requested by the Coalition Commander to be his primary advisor for Joint Special Operation Command Operations. Reese’s leadership and energy was instrumental within “Delta Force” and the U.S. Government interagency community for implementing and guiding a complex counter-terrorism strategy that revolutionized interagency operations.

After his retirement from the “Delta Force,” Reese was named the Director of Security Operations for a multi-billion-dollar international Fortune 100 Company. He was responsible for implementing and reorganizing the security apparatus of the company as well as the chairman’s critical infrastructure, maritime, aviation, domestic, and international personal-security operations. In 2008, he was specially recruited as a vendor program director for the U.S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security, High Threat Security Services in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sought after for his successful ability to lead and transform organizations through major financial, operational, and culture change, he transformed the $800 million program into the standard that is followed today.

Reese focused on TigerSwan fulltime in 2009. TigerSwan continues to transform and grow, providing revolutionary solutions to asymmetric threats for its clients internationally and domestic. Reese is a frequent speaker at industry events and an expert analyst sought after by media outlets including: CNN, Fox News, CNBC, and USA Today.
